iOS 11 Streaming App Instructions

The recent release of Apple’s iOS 11 update for iPhones and iPads has inadvertently disabled the ability to direct stream an audio URL. Using the following instructions, you will be able to install an application that makes it easy to tune in to the Hutto Hippo’s football broadcasts.

Search the Apple App Store: Radiofonic

Install Radiofonic

Open Radiofonic

When you see the statement beginning with: “Several app features require notifications…”, click on “Got it, thanks”.

When you see the “Don’t Allow / Allow” prompt, click “Allow”.

In the app, click “My Streams”, then click on the “+” sign in the upper right-hand corner.

In the “Name” field, give the channel any name you please, we’ll use “Hippo Ch.1”. Select the blue “Done” button.

In the “Stream URL (HTTP)” field, type in:

Select the blue “Done” button.

Select “Save” in the upper right-hand corner.

Select your newly-added channel, the screen will change and the stream will begin (when a live broadcast is in progress).

To end the stream, simply close the app or tap on the pause button in the lower left-hand corner of the screen.

You’ve added the higher bitrate (stereo) channel. To also add the lower bitrate (mono) channel, simply repeat the process, making the following changes:

Give the second channel a different name than the first channel.
